ABOUT UNITED ATLANTIC KARATE

United Atlantic Karate (UAK) was founded by Sensei Matthew Broadhead, who began his karate journey in Birmingham, England in 1998, practicing Wado Ryu under the tutelage of his sensei, Clayton Murrain.

Broadhead worked his way up, winning World and European titles from as early as age 12.

He knew he always wanted to form his own association and classes. Moving to Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2019 inspired him to form the UAK - an organisation, which, as its name implies, aims to break borders and unite karate practitioners from the United Kingdom and United States alike.

UAK offers public classes, group seminars and private lessons that cater to different age groups and experience levels.
